• Placed second at the season-opening Hawkeye Invitational with a personal-best 6K time of 18:16 while helping Iowa earn the team title

• Posted the third-fastest 6K time in program history, just six seconds off the school record

• Earns his first career Athlete of the Week award

Erika Freyhof, Nebraska

• Finished third in a 306-runner field in Nebraska’s season-opening race at the Augustana Twilight in Sioux Falls, S.D., covering the 5K course in a personal-best 17:01.13

• Topped her previous personal-best 5K time by 17 seconds

• Earned Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Big Ten honors last year

• Collects her second career Athlete of the Week accolade
