Latest Drought Monitor Shows Improvement

The latest Drought Monitor update shows that much of the drought in the state is gone after the widespread rain earlier this month.

Moderate to severe drought has been whittled down to a handful of counties in far southern Iowa.

It includes parts of Wayne, Monroe, Appanoose, Wapello, and Davis Counties.

That makes up a little more than two percent of Iowa. That’s the smallest drought coverage in the state since June 2017.
