Construction season is showing no signs of slowing down in eastern Iowa.
In Cedar Rapids, Collins Road is undergoing a big improvement project and this week there could be some changes that impact your drive to work or home.
Travel lanes in both directions are currently open but there will be closures happening later this week.
Drivers can expect full lane closures this Wednesday and Thursday night starting at 9 p.m.
That will last until 6 a.m. on Thursday and Friday and then the roads will reopen.
This work is mainly taking place between Northland Drive and Twixt Town Road.
Crews on Collins Road are continuing their work on utilities this week.
They'll eventually be adding a turn lane at the Lindale Mall, Collins Crossing intersection.
They will also add new sidewalks on both sides, new traffic signals with pedestrian push buttons, and storm water management.
The Collins Road Improvement project is expected to be completed next year.
After this week travel lanes will remain open throughout the rest of the construction season.
