One Injured in Motorcycle Accident

A motorcyclist went to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a crash in Fairfax.

According to a news release from the Linn County Sheriff,, it happened about 4 p.m. Monday at 65 Williams Boulevard near the Casey's General Store.

Deputies reported 66-year-old Douglas Fuller of Walford was southbound on Williams Blvd. when he failed to stop for the vehicle in front of him, waiting to turn left. They said Fuller took to the north ditch to avoid hitting the vehicle, but instead hit a pole. That caused him to flip his motorcycle. Deputies said Fuller was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

A helicopter ambulance flew Fuller to University of Iowa Hospitals.
