RAGBRAI Entertainment Announced for Iowa City

Two country music acts will headline Iowa City's RAGBRAI celebration when thousands of cyclists spend the night in the city in July. RAGBRAI is the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa.

Alternative country and country rock band The Jayhawks and experimental country/folk/rock band Blitzen Trapper will perform free outdoor concerts on the main stage on Friday, July 27. They will be joined by Iowa City artists, singer-songwriter Elizabeth Moen, and blues musician Keven "B.F." Burt. The main state will run from 4 to 10 p.m.

The roughly 12,000 RAGBRAI riders, their support crews, and visitors to Iowa City will also find a block-party style event throughout the downtown business district. In addition to musical entertainment on the main stage, guests will be allowed to visit local bars and restaurants and openly enjoy food and beverages within the event's designated area. A beverage tent will operate from 6 to 10 p.m. Admittance to the area near the main stage will require a wristband available to those age 21 and older.
