Chain-Reaction Crash in Linn County

A multi-vehicle chain reaction crash sent three people to the hospital Monday.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office said it happened about 4 p.m. on U.S. 151 at Beverly Road SW.

Deputies said a line of northbound vehicles were stopped on U.S. 151 due to a vehicle waiting to turn. Another northbound vehicle failed to yield to the stopped vehicles and struck the last in line. The second-vehicle then struck a third vehicle in front of it, which then struck a fourth vehicle in front of it.

The driver of the first vehicle is a 17-year-old juvenile who was taken to the hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the second vehicle and a passenger in the third vehicle were also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the fourth vehicle was not injured.
