Iowa Gas Prices Rising

Gas prices are 20-cents higher than they were a year ago, and there's no sign of dropping.

"In fact, long term we would expect sometime in the March-April time frame, for prices to increase." AAA Spokesperson Gail Weinholzer tells WHO Radio News.

Higher oil prices are putting upward pressure on pump-prices. She says gas will likely go up another 20-cents when it's time to switch-over the winter-grade fuel to the summer grade fuel, because summer-grade is more costly to refine.

The Iowa statewide average price for regular unleaded is $2.54, a penny lower than the national average.
